The NFL has suspended former Jaguars Ace Sanders for 10-games, per Field Yates of ESPN. Sanders is currently a free agent after being released by the Jaguars on July 17. Sanders, 23, spent two seasons with the Jags recording 57 receptions for 539 yards but only 1 touchdown.
This is the second time Sanders has been suspended by the league for substance-abuse. He missed four games last season after violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy.
During his suspension last year, Sanders shared these words.
“I decided to seek the help that I need, hopefully somebody can help me out and I should be fine. It’s really like canceling, just from somebody who really give me some insight on some personal issues that I have. Give me some type of ground that I can at least start from and figure out everything that’s going on.”
After this ruling, Sanders will likely had a difficult time landing a new job this season. Sanders drew interest from the Dolphins, Lions and Seahawks but they won’t likely pursue him after his latest suspension.
