A few days ago hypebeast and sneakerheads all rejoiced when images of a collab between Air Jordan and Supreme surfaced. Retailers saw dollar signs and camp outs flash before their eyes and calls were immediately made trying to lock in release dates.
Unfortunately all of that was premature because Jordan Brand has now confirmed that the sneakers are in fact FAKE. TheShoeGame.com has the details:
A few days ago, images leaked of what appeared to be a Supreme x Air Jordan 1 in black and red. After reaching out to sources at Jordan Brand, we can officially confirm this collaboration is FAKE. You will not see JB releasing the Supreme x Air Jordan 1 in the images above.
In fact, graphic artist Dan Freebairn aka @Kickposters imagined what a Supreme collaboration would look like on the Air Jordan 1 and a few weeks later China stole his designs. As always, early news is speculative until we see a Nike press release with a confirmed release date.
That really is a downer because the design was dope. I could see athletes, celebs and collectors rushing to get their hands on these. Maybe Jordan Brand will see the hype this generated and try to link up with Supreme for a true collab.
