Kam Chancellor warned them this would happen.
Via the Score,
Seattle Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor is prepared to extend his holdout into the regular season, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Chancellor is under contract through 2017 and is slated to be paid $4.55 million in base salary for the upcoming season, along with a $1-million signing bonus.
Kam’s salary this year isn’t fantastic, but he also has to realize who he’s playing in the defensive backfield with. Not only is Earl Thomas the highest paid safety in the League, but they also have a guy by the name of Richard Sherman who deserves a boat-load of cash, as well.
Most people would look at that and realize why the team isn’t trying to budge, but clearly Chancellor thinks he is worth it. We’ll have to wait and see who cracks first.
The NFL preseason doesn’t accomplish much, if anything at all.
But it does have the unique ability to guarantee three things occurring:
- Injuries
- Brawls
- Holdouts
