Everybody playing for the Mavericks will be asked this question at some point; earlier today was Devin Harris’ turn.
When pressed on how he felt after the DeAndre Jordan saga, Harris said:
“Nothing really catches me by surprise, everybody has a right to change their mind,”
After stating the obvious, the talented guard began to speak a bit more freely and say what’s really on everyone’s mind.
“I think if he could have done it in more of a mature way it would have been a lot better off, but what is done is done and we have to move forward and move on to the next step and try to look forward to getting better.”
He deserves credit for answering basically exactly how the PR people in Dallas would teach him to, other than that line in between.
Mentioning a man’s maturity level is a quick and easy way to disrespect him. Devin Harris is well aware of this, and I wouldn’t be surprised if these comments are striking a cord with Jordan. Now people on both sides are beginning to feel disrespected, which can only lead to an even more heated game.
The rivalry between these two Western Conference powers has never been stronger.
NBA season is just around the corner, boys and girls.
