No one likes to lose a player to an injury but it really sucks when it’s the second major injury for your team during the preseason. Panthers lost Kelvin Benjamin last week with a torn ACL which will sideline him for the season and now projected starter Frank Alexander will miss the rest of the season as well.
It’s been reported that Alexander tore his Achilles in Saturday’s game versus the Miami Dolphins.
#Panthers coach Ron Rivera said defensive end Frank Alexander suffered a torn Achilles. His season is over.

Although Alexander only played in one regular season game last year due to a combined 14-game suspension for violation of NFL’s substance-abuse policy, he was expected to be the starting defensive end for the Panthers this season. In Alexander’s absence, second year player Kony Ealy will be expected to step up. Ealy was drafted in the second round of the 2014 draft and will now have a chance to prove his worth.
