Many would look at Rond Rousey’s 30 sec domination of Bethe Correia as MMA perfection but according to Rousey’s long time Judo mentor, Gene LeBell, it didn’t last long enough.
“I think she was a little disappointed,” the 83-year-old LeBell said on a recent edition of The MMA hour. “She wanted to beat this gal up, and she said, ‘I wasn’t through, I wanted to break something, an arm or a leg or neck’. But John McCarthy broke it up because she was unconscious. But she said, ‘well, I proved a point.’ She’s happy, so I’m happy.”
Ronda now has to face Meisha Tate for a 3rd time this winter and Meisha has proven to be her toughest opponent thus far. Tate is the only woman who can say that she’s pushed Ronda out of the 1st round of a fight and at this point she’s extremely familiar with the champion. This could be the recipe for a major upset or this could just be another victim for the ever-impressive Rousey.
