The Tennessee Titans and Justin Hunter have received a bit of good news. The playmaking wide receiver’s felony charges have been reduced to a misdemeanor assault and battery charge which is expected to hage him in court on September 1. According to a statement released by the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Virginia Beach, the charges were reduced after receiving additional information from witnesses.
“Based upon sequential interviews with witnesses, it is the Commonwealth’s position that the evidence better supports the charge of assault and battery. We can’t comment further because the case is pending trail on Tuesday.”
Hunter is entering his third NFL season with the Titans and would be the deep threat for rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota. Hunter has 46 receptions and 7 touchdowns in his 2 years of action, averaging 18.5 yards per reception.
