The NCAA just recently made it so that schools would have to cover an athlete’s full cost-of attendance, therefore putting extra money in their pockets and it looks like schools are already looking into ways of taking that away.
Or at least Virginia Tech is.
#Hokies DC Bud Foster said coaching staff will explore fining players money from cost-of-attendance funds as future disciplinary measure.

Fining college players? That sounds more like something that happens to professionals, rather than college athletes. On top of that, the fact that you are looking into taking money away from them after people fought so hard to make it happen.
From the outside looking, this looks petty on Virginia Tech’s part. Whatever happened to just disciplining players the old fashion way? Just seems like an interesting move by Tech to go this direction.
