Media has a tendency to try to tell you the fan and in some cases the athlete on who they should like or dislike.
At the moment, being friends or admiring Floyd Mayweather is frowned upob by mainstream media. If you associate with Mayweather in any way you must condone domestic violence.
It is one of the stupidest things that is happening in media right now. If you are a fan of Mike Tyson do you condone everything he has done in his life?
If you are a fan of Dwight Howard do you condone spreading your seed all over the country?
Just because you admire the positive aspects of a person or in this case an athlete’s life doesn’t mean you agree with everything they do.
Media needs to get off their high horse with that, because their closets aren’t exactly clean either. If Mayweather inspires Oladipo to be a better player on the court because he admires Mayweather’s work ethic, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that and he shouldn’t be judge for it.
Oladipo spoke on how spending time with Mayweather at his gym and him coming to the Team USA Showcase inspired him to show out.
“He’s one of the greatest athletes in the world, if not the greatest.” Oladipo said. “He told me he was coming to the game today. When I first got out there, he was just kind of egging me on and getting me going and stuff. And it worked.”
Mayweather isn’t perfect and if you personally don’t want to associate with him that is fine, don’t put your judgments on other people.
