Von Miller no longer has to be subjected to more than one random drug test after the NFL removed him from its drug program.
Mike Klis of 9News in Denver reported the news.
After getting tested multiple times a week for two years as a player who was in Stage 3 of the NFL’s substance abuse program, Miller’s status has been resent to zero. He has not been drug tested in more than a month. He is not even in stage 1.
The development could not have come at a better time for Miller as he is in the final year of his contract. That means when his agent Joby Branion entertains negotiations for Miller’s next contract, the linebacker would be considered no more risk of a drug suspension than the league’s teetotalers.
Miller totaled 14 sacks in 2014 and 18.5 in 2012.
