The Tennessee Titans are getting no love this season. They do play in a division with the Indianapolis Colts, who are one of the favorites to win Super Bowl 50. So there’s that. They’re also surrounded by the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars though. Two teams that are extremely weak.
None the less, the Titans are predicted to lose their division and pick up another high draft pick in the process. Another high draft pick definitely couldn’t hurt the team who are still looking for an identity in the backfield. Up front though, this team could certainly surprise.
The NFL betting line at topbet.eu sportsbook for their season opener lists them as +3 underdogs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what should be a great game. The two top quarterback prospects in the league going toe to toe.
We all know Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota is going to be insane, whether this is his year or it takes him a season to find his feet. The mobile sniper has the parts to be a prodigy in the making. Aside from Marcus though, let’s take a look at the rest of the crew.
At running back, Bishop Sankey disappointed heavily last season. Everyone thought he was going to be the next big thing and the pressure got the best of him. This year he finally has some competition and will have to step his game up.
Fifth rounder David Cobb out of Minnesota can impress. He broke the Golden Gophers school record putting up 1,626 yards and 13 touchdowns. Flat out, the kid can play.
At wide receiver, learn this name…Dorial Green-Beckham. He’s a second rounder out of Missouri. The rookie is already making huge strides at camp and looks like the wide out of the future. The team also brought in Hakeem Nicks for some veteran advice.
This team’s offense could be crazy. On defense, expect a better team this season too. Defensive Coordinator Ray Horton installed his 3-4 scheme last season. It wasn’t a big deal except that the Titans had been playing 4-3 for years. This will be their second season under the new format, so they should be pretty deadly once it fully sinks in.
Andrew Luck and the Colts will win the division, that’s a given. Next season though, watch for Tennessee to make a push for a Wild Card spot.
