There isn’t much outside of the title that needs to be said here. At halftime of their game Tuesday, Bayern Munich trailed Wolfsburg 1-0 when Robert Lewandowski subbed into the game. The striker spent five minutes warming up apparently, because once we hit the 51st minute of the match Lewandowski went insane.
The German scored five (FIVE!) goals in a nine-minute span, hitting the back of the net at 51′, 52′, 55′, 57′ and 60′ in the second half to blow this match wide open. Keep in mind, Wolfsburg isn’t exactly a push over. They came into this match third in the Bundesliga and finished in 2nd place a year ago. This goal-scoring display was every bit as incredible as it seemed.
His fifth goal especially was an absolute beauty and had his coach Pep Guardiola reacting like the rest of us, completely awestruck.
Good luck ever seeing something like that pulled off again. I’m not even sure you could do that in FIFA playing on easy.
