Much talk is currently being made about St. Louis, Oakland or San Diego moving to Los Angeles. But could the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell surprise everyone and give London a franchise first. At least that is London mayor Boris Johnson hope for the future. He is expecting that London will have a NFL franchise within the next few years.
Logistics have been one of the biggest obstacles with getting a franchise to London. The NFL has been making strides for making games in London more feasible. Currently the NFL has agreed to play at least 2 games for the next 10 years. Ideally the future NFL team will play games in the newly constructed Tottenham Hotspur.
The NFL has yet to commit to moving or creating a London franchise but Goodell recognizes expanding into a another market.
