Idiots.
First off, you shouldn’t have to worry about getting robbed at gunpoint for some $170 sneakers, but that is the world we live in.
But, if you are a criminal, might want to chill on the social media spaces.
According to a Clayton County Sheriff’s Office press release, a juvenile victim was walking near his school bus stop in the area of Scarlett and Lakeshore drives in Jonesboro around 5:30 p.m. Monday when he was approached by two older teens.
“He was told, ‘you need to come up out of those shoes,’ as one of the perpetrators racked a bullet into the chamber of a firearm,” the press release said.
The victim, whose name and age were not released, gave the suspects his black and chrome Nike Jordan VI shoes. The shoes went on sale Saturday with a retail price of $170.
According to deputies, one of the suspects later posted photos of the stolen shoes on social media (Instagram), leading investigators from the sheriff’s Truancy Unit and Clayton County police to identity the suspects and obtain arrest warrants.
police arrested the suspects, 17-year-old Davon Luckett and 19-year-old Reed Markee Deandre Williams, charging them with aggravated assault and armed robbery, both felonies.
“It should be noted Davon Luckett was wearing the stolen Jordan VI sneakers at the time of the arrest,” the press release said.
Is it just me or do the dumb criminals look like Play from Kid n Play and Method Man?
Maybe just me.
