After an incident in New York back in April left Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha with a broken fibula, Sefolosha was forced to miss the Hawks record setting playoff run.
Sefolosha was arrested with his teammate, Pero Antic, who has since opted to play oversees and leave the U.S. Both players were charged with obstructing a crime scene and resisting arrest. The altercation got violent and left Sefolosha injured.
Antic had all his charges dropped. The NYPD offered Sefolosha a conditional discharge deal if he agreed to do a day of community service. After being injured by the cops, Sefolosha declined the deal, and plans to take the NYPD to court for justice.
While Sefolosha is no longer wearing a walking boot, he still is working on being cleared to play in October.
Sefolosha’s trial will begin on October 5th in New York.
