The Dallas Cowboys have a plethora of running backs to choose from, and head coach Jason Garrett believes it’s a good thing.
Amid reports that Joseph Randle or Darren McFadden would start at running back against the Giants, Garrett says it doesn’t matter who starts.
“It doesn’t matter,” Garrett said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “The only thing that matters is everybody getting ready to play and if their number is called up they go out there and be their best. … There’s a freshness that each of those guys has. Maybe they have different styles, they can attack defenses different ways. And maybe over the course of three of them you’re just more versatile than one guy might be. They have a lot of different strengths you can tap into over the course of the game. I think freshness and versatility are probably the biggest things.”
Anybody who has ever played the game knows it’s not about the first carry, but who’ll eventually get the most.
