Los Angeles Lakers rookie D’Angelo Russell already making smart decisions and it began with one request.
The Number 2 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft requested to have a locker next to Lakers legend Kobe Bryant.
Russell spoke with Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily News on the importance of the locker.
“I don’t know how much longer he’s going to be around,” said Russell, who will first practice with Bryant on Tuesday in Honolulu. “So to have the opportunity to pick his brain a little bit every day, I don’t have to make it weird by walking to his locker. I’ll just look to my right and there he is.”
Lakers will be having their training camp in Honolulu, Hawaii giving the whole team a chance to bond as a unit.
If you want to pick one basketball mind to learn from in today’s game who better than Kobe.
If the chemistry gels right for Bryant and Russell, this might be the start to contending for one the last spots in the Western Conference.
