The Buffalo Bills generated a lot of buzz the other day after parting ways with veteran back Fred Jackson. What made the release even more shocking is the fact LeSean McCoy may not even be ready to go week one against the Indianapolis Colts.
“Well we certainly expect him to be ready to go, I hope,” coach Rex Ryan said Monday. “If not then the next man has to step up. Boobie [Dixon] got a lot of reps out there today. Bryce Brown got a lot of reps today. So we will see. I am not going to put that all on one man. If he is not ready to go, he won’t be in there.”
If McCoy can’t go week one, Buffalo will have to replace him by committee because Boobie Dixon nor Bryce Brown will be able to it alone.
For the short-term, Buffalo should be fine if McCoy has to miss a couple games, but this is an injury they hope doesn’t linger deep into the season because he’s the only proven back on the roster.
