If Peyton Manning really is on his last legs, Lions cornerback Darius Slay isn’t going to let him go out without giving up an autograph.
Slay already has a plan in place if he gets a pick off of Manning.
“It’s going to be my first time ever playing him so I’m letting you know now, if I get a pick from him, he gotta sign that,” said Slay, according to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein. “He gotta sign that. I gotta have that. Signature, right then, on the spot. I’m going to have the pen in my pocket. I’m going to his sideline if I do it, like, hey, holler at me.
“It’s Peyton Manning, you know,” continued Slay. “There’s not another Peyton Manning out there. Unless he got a Peyton Manning Jr. Other than that, shoot, goodness.”
“I know it’s just a turnover, but hey, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance here.”
According to ESPN, Manning hasn’t thrown an interception against the Lions since 2000.
