RG3 is just sort of there.
They are scared to make him the backup quarterback out of fear he gets hurt and they will be on the hook for $16.1 million next year.
So, they just keep him deactivated and chilling on the sideline in warmup gear.
RG3 has talent, he is the most talented quarterback on the roster. Kirk Cousins isn’t going to lead the Redskins to anything beyond mediocrity, but that is who they have decided to hitch their wagon to and that isn’t going to change.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com, Washington has no intention of dealing Griffin, and has ‘t made a single call to attempt to.
“Scot does not want to trade him,” said a source. “He really doesn’t. That’s not something he is even thinking about. He’s still getting to learn about him and what he can do and what he’s all about. This kid was the 2012 Rookie of the Year for a reason and you don’t just fall into that stuff. He’s not giving up hope on him.”
Jay Gruden never liked RG3 and the GM doesn’t know what to do with him. This can’t go on forever, so we will see how this year ends and if they will just cut him so he can get a fresh start somewhere else next year.
