The power of a tweet is now being translated into money.
It’s literally very simple to make money these days when you’re on social media. A few weeks ago, a financial expert said that LeBron’s tweets are worth about $140,000. That number was outrageous to hear. But now, it’s reported that Cristiano Ronaldo’s tweets are worth just a tad more than LeBron’s.
According to AS, which picked up on a report by Opendorse, a company that connects marketers with athletes to build endorsement campaigns, Ronaldo receives more money from Twitter posts than any of his counterparts, earning €230,366 ($255,959) for each promotional tweet he publishes.
Since he is a star in the soccer world, it’s only fitting that his tweets be worth $255,959. Clearly the money is in soccer and we’re all doing something wrong.
