Florida head coach Jim McElwain has named Treon Harris the starting quarterback for the season opener.

Harris beat out Will Grier for the starting job, but McElwain said that both quarterbacks will play in the season opener against New Mexico State.
Grier will play. Harris first snap.

McElwain said the QBS will rotate during the game. Competition is not over at QB. "Key here guys is it's a true partnership," he said.

Everyone knows the old coaching saying about having two quarterbacks playing. Something tells me that Florida will end up using both quarterbacks plenty and that their long term solution has yet to make it to campus. No the ideal situation for a program trying to climb their way back to the top in the SEC.
