Following the huge financial success of the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, rumors are swirling that Universal is considering another dive into hip hop history, this time with the east coast story of Def Jam Recordings and its co-founder Russell Simmons.
According to Deadline, Michael B. Jordan would be asked play Russell Simmons and Jonah Hill to play Def Jam co-founder Rick Rubin.
The film would be based on Simmons’ 2002 book, Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money + God.
Maybe it’s a generational thing, but I already saw ‘Krush Groove.’
