Through seven games, Colin Kaepernick seems to be steadily regressing from the player that was one play away from a Super Bowl Championship just a few short years ago. Now we’re starting to get some insight as to why. Earlier this month during a players only meeting, several 49er players got into a heated exchange over Colin Kaepernick’s ability to lead and more specifically Kaepernick’s insistence on constantly walking around with headphones on.
According to TMZ, Pro-Bowl tight end, Vernon Davis and starting tackle, Joe Staley got into a verbal altercation over Kaepernick. Many players feel Kaepernick has been acting like a “loner,” not interacting with teammates. He was also referred to as “unapproachable.” Staley spent much of the meeting defending Kaepernick.
Cooler heads prevailed between Staley and Davis who talked it out after the meeting was over.
