Urban Meyer and The Ohio State Buckeyes have wasted no time suspending starting QB J.T. Barrett following his arrest early this morning. Barrett has been suspended for next weeks game against Minnesota.
Since Barrett is under 21, Barrett was subject to a mandatory 2 game suspension for this latest arrest. However AD Gene Smith has stated that the mandatory 2 week suspension will not apply to Barrett. Urban Meyer decided that one game suspension and Barrett will be eligible to play in 2 weeks against Illinois.
Ohio State only has 4 games remaining; Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan State and Michigan.
Ohio State AD Gene Smith tells @espn because J.T. Barrett’s arrest is misdemeanor, he’s not subject to mandatory 2-week suspension
