Knicks Kristaps Porzingis was drafted as the 4th overall pick and has reassured the public that his injury isn’t a big deal.
One face that’s slowly becoming familiar on the Knicks was missing in action during last night’s game due to a left quad strain. Kristaps Porzingis wants you to know that his injury isn’t a big deal though. You can stop holding your breath now.
“We’re just being cautious,” Porzingis said. “Very mild. Not that serious. In a few days, I’ll be fine.”
Porzingis has been trying to gain good weight. Trying to adjust to life in the NBA and attempting to gain good weight may be tough to juggle. Sounds like he hasn’t explored the New York City streets for some good food. However, Coach Derek Fisher is hopeful about his return.
“He’s still a young man just in terms of his overall physical development,” Fisher said, adding: “The feedback is, O.K., this is the second time with this particular injury, so of course, let’s sit down and figure out how we can adjust his program so we can at least try as hard as possible to mitigate that from happening.”
The Knicks face the Celtics on October 16. It’s too soon to say if he’ll be available.
