The Lions promoted Jim Bob Cooter to offensive coordinator because he’s smart.
Allegedly super smart.
Cooter has a sense of humor as well.
A Tennessee native, Cooter, 31, played college football for the Vols and worked with Peyton Manning with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos before he joined the Lions as quarterbacks coach last year.
With the media and fans rushing to learn about the teams new play-caller, Cooter beat everybody to the punch with by mocking the stereotypical one-liners that come with being from deep in the heart of Tennessee.
Cooter even joked about having two first names.
Jim Bob Cooter on his name: "I think maybe my parents were really into marketing so we were trying to sell some T-shirts from an early age"

Jim Bob Cooter: There's a lot of people out there with 2 names where I'm from, a lot of spaces in my classroom growing up
