One of the best offensive lineman in America is back, fresh and ready to go.
AL.com is reporting that Ole Miss All American left tackle, Laremy Tunsil will sit out one more game before being reinstated for a showdown with Texas A&M.
unsil, who has missed all six games this season while Ole Miss and the NCAA investigated his eligibility, will miss Saturday’s game at Memphis. The preseason All-American will return to the lineup Oct. 24 at home against Texas A&M.
According to the school’s release, Tunsil was found to have received “impermissible extra benefits” including “the use of three separate loaner vehicles over a sixth-month period without payment, a four-month interest-free promissory note on a $3,000 down payment for purchasing a used vehicle, two nights of lodging at a local home, an airline ticket purchased by a friend of a teammate, and one day use of a rental vehicle.” It was also determined that Tunsil “was not completely forthcoming” when questioned by NCAA investigators.
“We have been supportive of Laremy throughout this process, and we are thankful he can return to competition starting with the Texas A&M game,” Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said in a statement. “More important than his football ability is his character, and I am confident that Laremy will grow from this experience and continue to be a positive member of the University and our football team.”
Tunsil was ordered to pay restitution to a charity, perform community service and repay the vehicle down payment.
The issue only surfaced after an altercation between him and his stepfather, Lindsey Miller. The two reportedly fought after Miller accused Tunsil of “riding around with agents.”
Lindsey Miller may have saved Ole Miss some wins.
