It was a race between 2 Live Crew and NWA, but who and what group truly was responsible for the ‘parental advisory’ sticker showing up on tapes and cd’s at the start of the 90’s.
During an interview with VladTV, the Miami hip-hop legend details all of the complaints he was getting from parents about 2 Live Crew’s songs.
In an effort to differentiate edited and explicit versions of songs, Luke came up with the sticker. While the parental advisory sticker has become a staple in music culture, Luke admitted he should have patented the item.
