Just when it looked like the New York Giants would be getting a legit playmaker back on he offensive side of the ball, things took a turn for the worst. Victor Cruz has been rehabbing all summer to come back after suffering a torn patellar tendon in 2014. Cruz missed this first 3 games of the season after suffering a calf injury during camp. Earlier this week Cruz announced that he would be making his season debut in Week 4 against the Buffalo Bills but things have changed.
There will be no salsa dancing for Cruz in the near future after suffering a setback in practice this week.
#Giants coach Tom Coughlin tells reporters WR Victor Cruz is out this week against the #Bills. No timetable as he tries to rehab his calf

The Giants started their season with a 1-2 record. Although they wish Cruz was returning, they might be the favorites even without him in the NFC East because of their quarterback. Two divisions rivals are starting quarterbacks who were listed as backup during camp, (Cowboys and Redskins) and the Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford has yet to prove he fits their system. Eli is a 2-time Super Bowl champ who has proven himself before. As of today, I think they are the most stable and favorites to win the NFC a East despite not having Cruz in their lineup.
