Everyone loves to stretch or fully elaborate on the truth when its time to promote a new book.
Steve Williams, the former caddie for golf legend Tiger Woods, is making some salacious claims in a new book — specifically that Woods “treated him like a slave” during their 12-years together.
Williams has released a new book, Out of the Rough, in which he describes what life was like working for Woods.
As well as telling his side of the story on the revelation of Woods’s many mistresses, Williams also describes how his paymaster had ‘other bad habits that upset me’, including treating him ‘like I was his slave’.
‘He was well-known for his bad temper,’ writes Williams in an extract of the book published by New Zealand media.
‘I wanted him to prove to me he could change his behaviour and show me – and the game of golf – more respect.
‘One thing that really p***** me off was how he would flippantly toss a club in the general direction of the bag, expecting me to go over and pick it up.’
‘I felt uneasy about bending down to pick up his discarded club – it was like I was his slave. The other thing that disgusted me was his habit of spitting at the hole if he missed a putt.’
Williams goes on to say that Woods’ affair caused he and his family great embarrassment and frustrations as well — because they were constantly hounded by reporters.
Sounds like a salty and judgemental ex-caddie to me.
