Earlier today reports came out that TCU star wide receiver Josh Doctson would miss the remainder of the season with a wrist injury, but now head coach Gary Patterson has contradicted that report and said that Doctson will play this weekend against Kansas.
Doctson was injured in this past weekend’s game against Oklahoma State and missed a good portion of the game.
Here are the details from Bleacher Report:
Head coach Gary Patterson said Doctson has practiced and is fine to play against Kansas on Nov. 14, per Bruce Feldman of Fox Sports. “Josh Doctson will play!” Patterson said on Twitter.
Earlier in the day, Chris Childers of Sirius XM Radio College Sports Nation reported Patterson said Doctson was done for the year on Childers’ radio show. However, Childers retracted his report later in the day, saying they weren’t sure if Patterson said Doctson was out.
Here is the tweet Patterson sent out after the injury report on Doctson started making the rounds:
Josh Doctson will play!

This is a pretty interesting situation all the way around. I am not sure how you go from being done for the season, to playing this weekend. Seems like some wires got crossed on this whole deal, and it is quite odd.
