Kobe never gave a clear answer on if he would play beyond the final year of his contract but in anticipation of the Lakers game against the Knicks, Kobe was a little more candid.
“If you asked me today, this would be my last year. But you never know,” said Bryant, who is in the final year of his deal with the Lakers. “We’ll keep it open. Whatever happens, happens.”
This is not a definite answer but Kobe, who stated after the first win of the season against the Nets Friday that he will not play for another franchise, is maybe starting to see the end of the tunnel. Kobe said he doesn’t want a farewell tour but after his game against the Nets where he received a lot of cheers, this afternoon at the Madison Square Garden where he was deadly all his career will surely looks like one.
