Sometimes they go easier on you when it is a crime of passion, but not in this case.
A Brooklyn man was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for stabbing his wife and her lover to death, after catching them in the act.
Steve Whittingham, 49, appeared calm in court on Monday as he was handed the grim sentence.
Whittingham was arrested last December after the bodies of his wife Jonelle Barker, 36, and her lover Jerome Barrett, 35, were found stabbed to death in East New York.
All three worked as baggage handlers at John F Kennedy International Airport.
Investigators say Whittingham stabbed his romantic rival and his unfaithful wife in the chest multiple times, after discovering them having sex in a parked car.
Whittingham had claimed self defense.
