After a disastrous 46-game stretch with the Mavericks — one that saw him jettisoned home during the playoffs — an embarrassed Rajon Rondo signed a one-year, $10-million contract with the Sacramento Kings this summer.
Rondo looks like his old self again — leading the NBA in triple-doubles with four in 18 games — while trying to put himself in position for a huge contract this summer.
In a surprising move — Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle – believes Rondo will play himself into a max contract.
Rick Carlisle on Rajon Rondo: "He's a max player next year. Someone's going to have to back up the truck to get him."

Rondo is averaging 12.4 points, a league-high 11 assists, and 7.3 rebounds through 18 games with the Kings.
