Carmelo Anthony doesn’t come off as the delusional type, so even though he holds a winning record over LeBron James in overall head-to-head battles, the Knicks star knows it really isn’t that meaningful.
Melo boasts a 12-11 record against his good friend Heading into their 24th matchup Wednesday, but knows the comparisons between the two usually are end when the playoff talk begins.
Those accomplishments alone are what keep James on another level over Melo.
“Those are fun stats, but that’s not something we talk about,” Anthony said. “At the end of the day it comes down to the postseason, so s**t doesn’t mean nothing.”
“We know each other’s game. He brings the best out of me and I bring the best out of him,” Anthony said. “I’m pretty sure we both look forward to these games.”
They are still in the same company — with LeBron and Kobe being the only two players to have scored as many points as Anthony since he was drafted in 2003.
