For a while thanks to a sluggish promotion it looked like the Cotto-Canelo fight would struggle to get anywhere near one million PPV buys.
But a late push spurred on by social media and Oscar De La Hoya seemed to really give it a kick in the butt the last couple of days.
According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael early estimates have it around the 900k range.
No #CottoCanelo PPV figs yet. Will be few days but based on early satellite numbers, source involved told me it's a lock to do at least 900k

Could end up being a little lower or higher, but at least the promoters and everyone involved will be close to breaking even on the event. The word in Vegas was if they didn’t get close to a million buys they would be taking a loss.
