Could Charlie Strong really be interested in leaving the bright lights of Austin, Texas, for the less demanding expectations of South Beach?
According to the Miami Herald, folks around the Miami Hurricanes program believe Texas coach Charlie Strong is interested in its head-coaching opening.
### Though public denials would be expected, UM people are under the impression that Texas’ Charlie Strong and Cincinnati’s Tommy Tuberville have interest in the UM job.
Strong is considered an appealing candidate if he and Texas part ways, but that likely wouldn’t happen until after the Longhorn’s regular-season finale Dec. 5.
This comes less than three weeks after Strong bragged that he has the “best job in the country,” dismissing questions of going to Miami.
Al Golden was fired Oct. 25 as Miami head coach after posting a mediocre 32-25 record and 0-2 mark in the postseason.
Strong, whose Longhorns are 4-5, has battled impressions that he’s not the right fit for Texas and Austin.
