Tom Coughlin and the Giants are getting ready to face the undefeated Patriots this sunday. The veteran coach will have a lot of weapons to game plan against, one of them is Julian Edelman. Coughlin had the chance to sign the Patriots wide receiver two years but ultimately decided to pass on him.
“I was very impressed. I was very, very impressed with the young man,” Coughlin said ahead of Sunday’s showdown with the undefeated Patriots, per CSN New England. “He was very serious. I kind of like those kind of guys. … He was serious about his business and the game of football and what he was looking for. I certainly regret the fact that he’s not in this uniform. But that’s the way it goes.”
If I was Coughlin, I wouldn’t dwell too much on it because the Patriots proved that they have a system that allows players to prosper there. Nothing says we would have seen the same Edelman in a Giants uniform. A perfect example would be LeGarette Blount who seems to play well only in New England.
For Sunday matchup Coughlin hopes that a former Patriots Shane Vereen will shine against them and make them regret not signing him.
