The Golden State Warriors could win the next five NBA titles, and Charles Barkley would still find some problem with their small-ball approach.
The NBA analyst on TNT told ESPN Radio that the 72-win 1995-96 Bulls team would destroy the “little” Warriors in a matchup.
“That Bulls team would kill this little team,” Barkley said of the Warriors in an interview Thursday with ESPN Radio. “Come on, man. Who is going to guard Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan? What about Dennis Rodman?”
Barkley’s reasoning is that the Warriors — who improved to 25-1 Wednesday night — have been playing “inferior competition.”
“Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman — let me just start with those three,” Barkley said. “First of all they would love playing the way the Warriors play. It’s a much easier game now. Could you imagine how many points Michael would average if you couldn’t touch him? Dennis would get so many rebounds against that team. They are a very small team.”
Barkley went on to pick San Antonio to win the NBA title.
