If you are going to take him at his word, he had no idea how disrespectful he was to Archie Griffin. You could also say that he knew what he had done, but didn’t realized how bad it was being received until he checked his Twitter account so he went into damage control mode.
Whatever you believe, a couple of things can’t be disputed.
One is intentional or not, it was a jerk movie. Second, the people who were talking “crap or smack” on Twitter as Cook explained it were well within their right to call him out on his jerk move (if done respectfully).
The last thing, even if people don’t want to admit it, because Cook is white, this won’t get talked about or dissected as long as it would have if he was black.
Those are just the cold hard facts and anyone who tells you otherwise are just naive or don’t want to deal with the reality of the situation.
