The Dallas Cowboys are 4-10 — staring at a likely top-7 pick in the NFL draft — and in need of some young talent at certain positions.
Seeing as they’ve been eliminated from the playoffs, Dallas brass will focus on evaluating some of the younger talent already on the roster.
“Well, it’s a great opportunity,” Garrett said to the Star-Telegram. “Anytime you get a chance to play, I think it’s really important that guys are prepared for that opportunity and that they take advantage of it.
“They wouldn’t be in this position if we didn’t think they deserved it, so they just have to take advantage of it. The time has come for a few of those guys, and I think they’re ready to go play their best football.”
Quarterback Kellen Moore tops the list of guys Jerry Jones and company will evaluate — hoping to see if the former Boise State star has the chops to be Romo’s Backup.
