The main event of the evening had everyone in disbelief. Daniel Jacobs vs Peter Quillin was over before the round really even got started.
The battle for Brooklyn ended pretty abruptly as Daniel Jacobs got a technical knock out on Peter Quillin. Fans were eager for this match to get started as both fighters made their way to the ring but no one saw the match ending this way.
Once the match got started, Daniel Jacobs was on Peter Quillin till the referee put up his hand after Jacobs got Quillin on the temple. From the looks of it, it kind of dumbed him out.
During the post game conference, Jacobs displayed nothing but sportsmanship and thanked Quillin for this fight. Once Quillin saw the hit that got him, he said:
You never know what it’s really like till you see it in the replay. That was a good shot.
Quillin didn’t seem to mind too much that the ref stopped the match.
The battle of Brooklyn was decided in the first round. Daniel Jacobs is the champion and we’ll have to wait on the word if there will be an opportunity at a rematch.
