Lots of good choices for MVP this year: Tom Brady, Carson Palmer, or Cam Newton.
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was on NFL HQ this morning and weighed in on the MVP race, and according to him it’s a no brainer that Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton should win the award.
“I absolutely do. I think he’s played phenomenal,” said Brees, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Newton has led the Panthers to a franchise best 14-1 start, and are a win away from home-field advantage for the rest of the playoffs. As impressive as the record, is how Newton has made a supporting cast of wide receivers in Ted Ginn Jr., Jerricho Cotchery, and Devin Funchess work after losing their star wide out Kelvin Benjamin for the season to a torn ACL.
Brees might be seeing into the future correctly naming Newton as the MVP for the 2015-16 season.
