Rajon Rondo is currently in the midst of a resurgence in Sacramento. He’s leading the league in triple doubles and many fans have been eager to insist that the “Boston Rondo” is back; as is his temper, evidently.
While his Kings were being slaughtered by his former team tonight (the Celts were leading by 20+ at the time), Rondo decided he had enough from one of the refs. The ref retaliated to the criticism by giving the Kings point guard a tech.
Rondo obviously disagreed with this decision as well, but rather than risk saying something stupid he decides to stare at the ref.
Apparently he looked a little too long, though, as this ref decided a second tech was warranted; effectively tossing Rondo from the game.

Now that he’s been tossed he figures that he better make it worth it, so Rondo walks towards the ref while giving him an earful. Eventually teammates and another ref were able to separate the pair.

The drama then reportedly continued to unfold down the tunnel, as team security was needed to escort Rondo in to the locker room.
Rondo was tossed from the game and he legit went at the ref. Was held back by multiple teammates before team security pulled him from court.

The whole ordeal is a shame for the Kings, who currently sit just 1.5 games out of the 8th playoff spot in the West. You can expect a 1 game suspension handed down to Rondo, or at the very least a fine, for “walking briskly towards the ref” or “staring in a hostile manner”.
Hopefully the League takes a look at the situation and rescinds that second technical, though, as those can otherwise quickly add up for a player with Rondo’s reputation.
