Steph Curry is more than likely going to repeat as the NBA MVP this season, but has another goal in mind that might shock you.
In a recent ESPN the Magazine, Curry had a couple questions whether it is his goal to dethrone the G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan and here were his answers via Complex:
Is going down as the GOAT in your mind’s eye, or do you just go in conceding that title due to the presence of one Michael Jordan?
It’s a high mountain to climb, but I’m pretty motivated to take on the challenge. Whatever that means, however you got on that mountain, why not try to climb it? And do it in your own way.
So you are trying to top MJ as the greatest of all time?
Yeah. Why else would I be playing? You want to be the best you can be. And if the best you can be is better than him, then why not? That’s good motivation.
Curry has led his Golden State Warriors to a sizzling 22-0 start and are coming for the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls 72-10 season. Let’s see if the Warriors go undefeated or achieve of having the best record in NBA history.
Curry’s answer to why you play the game is to be the best ever is awesome, but maybe we should hold off on being the G.O.A.T. until a repeat and maybe a couple more championships.
Love Curry’s confidence as he’s been the best player in the NBA this season without question.
