Phoenix Suns’ G Eric Bledsoe has undergone a successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, an injury he suffered last weekend against the Sixers. While initial reports said he might miss 6-8 weeks, the team announced today on Twitter he will miss the remainder of the season and will be ready to start camp next fall.

It’s a tough break for Bledsoe and the Suns. The improving Bledsoe was enjoying his most effective scoring season in his young career so far (20.4 ppg). They’re also in the midst of a losing slide that has pushed them well out of the playoff conversation and may also push head coach Jeff Hornacek from his job.
