You are going to hear about this a lot over the next two weeks, that Cam Newton stole a laptop while at Florida.

There is nothing inaccurate about it and that is what derailed his career at Florida. It was a stupid thing to do and I am sure Cam would be the first person to tell you that. We do a lot of stupid things when we are in our late teens, early 20s.

Peyton Manning isn’t exempt from that either. Here is what Manning was accused of doing to an athletic trainer at Tennessee.

In a court filing, her lawyer wrote that she was examining Manning to see why Manning was having pain in one of his feet and was crouched behind him when “entirely unprovoked, Peyton Manning decided to pull down his shorts and sit on Dr. Naughright’s head and face.”

As Naughright described it in a deposition entered into the court record: “It was the gluteus maximus, the rectum, the testicles and the area in between the testicles. And all that was on my face when I pushed him up. … To get leverage, I took my head out to push him up and off.”

The court record includes a letter to Manning from former Tennessee cross country runner Malcolm Saxon, who Manning said was the intended target of the mooning. Written in December 2002, the letter reads, in part: “Bro, you have tons of class, but you have shown no mercy or grace to this lady who was on her knees seeing if you had a stress fracture. …

“She was minding her own business when your book came out. Peyton, the way I see it, at this point, you are going to take a hit either way, if you settle out of court or if it goes to court. You might as well maintain some dignity and admit to what happened. … Your celebrity doesn’t mean you can treat folks that way. … Do the right thing here.”

In a court filing, Naughright’s lawyer says his client reported the incident within hours to the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Knoxville.

In court documents, Naughright’s lawyer wrote that after the incident with Manning, Manning taunted her by re-enacting his conduct on two occasions. The document also said that Manning called her a “bitch” during a drug test, when he snatched a pen, which he was supposed to use to sign and date the specimen, and threw it across the room.

Tennessee settled with her quietly in 1997 and after Manning tried to clean up the story in his book she sued him and he settled in 2003.

The point is, I am sure Manning isn’t the same person he was when he was doing this in 1997, so remember that when you are trying to attach something Cam Newton did years ago, to the person he is now.

Let’s not also forget the media is sweeping under the rug the Manning HGH story and the fact he was using a very suspect clinic for his rehab from broken neck. If that was Tom Brady no way it would have not been discussed and investigated more thoroughly.

All people are asking is to be fair, if you are to bring up all of Cam’s skeletons, do the same for Manning.

  1. I will be shocked if the NFL allows Cam newton to win the 50th Super Bowl. The white NFL owners ant their white hero to win the Super Bowl. Expect some very controversial calls in this 50th Super Bowl. Yes I believe the NFL is fixed. I believe that the NFL has alot in common with the WWE.

  2. How dare you mention an HGH allegation where the accuser recanted his story and admitted it was fault. I hope YOU get sewed for trying to insinuate it’s true. Nice journalistic integrity, bet you wish you were Dr. Naughtright and the balls were cams

  3. It’s my understanding that Newton bought a stolen laptop, the cops traced it, he threw it out his dorm room window, got arrested and the charges were all dropped.
