Sean Lee is a bigger and better man than me for this one.
Yesterday we reported that the Cowboys middle linebacker was in jeopardy of losing out on a $2 million bonus.
Lee suffered a hamstring injury and was listed as questionable for the Cowboys’ season finale Sunday against the Redskins.
According to the Dallas Morning News — Lee has a playing time based incentive in his contract that will pay him a $2 million bonus if he is on the field for 80 percent or more of the team’s snaps this year.
Going into Sunday, Lee has played in 82.1 percent (812 of 989) of the Cowboys’ snaps. The Cowboys defense has averaged 66 plays per game this season. If the Cowboys defense is on the field for 66 plays Sunday against the Redskins and Lee misses the game, his play-time percentage in 2015 would drop to 77 percent.
Todd Archer is reporting that Lee will indeed miss the ballgame and possibly the bonus.
Sean Lee will be inactive because of hamstring strain. That could cost him a $2 million escalator in his 2016… https://t.co/za50SlFvFi
