Jerry Jones may have a choice to make — between two home-state kids — both looking for redemption and a fresh start.
The quarterbacks both view Cowboys as their preferred destination and have openly expressed that according to Charles Johnson of Yahoo Sports.
Sources close to Manziel and Griffin told Johnson that each player has long maintained that Jones would be interested if they were cut by their teams.
That remains to be seen, but Jones did express interest last month in finding a young quarterback to groom behind Tony Romo, who missed a good portion of this season with a broken collarbone.
It’s also no secret that Jones wanted to draft Manziel in 2014, and he’s admitted to being “a big admirer” of Griffin.
If there’s a quarterback better than both available — than Jones should draft him — but Manziel and RG3 have both proven that they can make plays in the league — and both could benefit from sitting behind Tony Romo — for a complete restart.
